Where are you from, and why did you choose to study at UGA/CAES?
I am from Nepal. I chose UGA CAES because it is one of the top public research university in the United States.
What is your major/degree program, and what department?
I am a Ph.D. student at Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics and Genomics.
Why did you choose your major?
I was always interested in varietal development in crops. So, I picked this major to learn the traditional and modern plant breeding tools and techniques.

What has been the best experience you've had so far at CAES?

What do you want to do with what you have learned here?
I want to be able to use the knowledge I learn from my graduate school in my future career in plant breeding.
How has your experience at UGA changed you?
So far, my experience at UGA has been great. It has helped me be more mature, passionate, and patience towards everything in life.
Thinking of the word agriculture - what does agriculture mean to you? In what ways does agriculture impact your life and your culture?
For me, agriculture means saving mankind from starvation. Since, I come from a country where about 80% population are involved in some sort of agricultural production, our life and culture pretty much revolves around planting, production, and harvesting of crops.
What do you like to do outside of class — hobbies, interests, secret talents?
I love watching all kinds of sports from cricket, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and many more whenever I am free.
