Dr. Peng Chee, Cotton Genetics Research Award: Kudos to our Institute's Dr. Peng Chee, Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, Tifton campus, as the recipient of the Cotton Genetics Research Award for 2016. Dr. Chee was presented with the award at the 2017 Beltwide Cotton Improvement Conference.
Dr. Wayne Parrott, D.W. Brooks Faculty Award: Congratulations to Dr. Wayne Parrott, Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, Athens campus. He was the recipient of the 2016 D.W. Brooks Faculty Award for Excellence in Global Programs. Read about Dr. Parrott's research.
Dr. John Ruter: Congratulations to Dr. John Ruter for several commendations in 2016. He received the Service Award from the American Conifer Society, a Student Career Development Award from UGA and was selected as a Fellow of the International Plant Propagators Society. He recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Green Industry Association for his distinguished and unselfish service to the horticulture industry in Georgia.

Glenn and Helen Burton Feeding the Hungry Scholarship Award: Congratulations to Clint Steketee for being selected for the 2017 Glenn and Helen Burton Feeding the Hungry Scholarship Award. Clint ’s research is focused on characterization and unraveling the mechanism of drought tolerance in soybean.
